13th February – 10th March 2020

Maddox Gallery Gstaad

Promenade 7, 3780

Maddox Gallery presents ‘Living On Earth’ by world-renowned fine art photographer

David Yarrow. The exhibition, in partnership with LuxAviation, showcases Yarrow’s

most highly acclaimed pieces in addition to new releases that have recently been

added to his body of work.

For more than two decades, legendary British photographer David Yarrow has been

putting himself in harm's way to capture immersive photography of the world's

most revered and endangered species. Now, carefully curated for the first time,

‘Living On Earth’ will offer a compelling retrospective of Yarrow’s spectacular work

in the wild as well as his elaborate storytelling portraiture.

Featuring over 30 of Yarrow's most iconic photographs, ‘Living on Earth’ highlights

the beauty of the endangered planet and the art of narrative as conveyed by one of

the most relevant fine art photographers in the world. Yarrow says: “The balance

now suits my personality and has no doubt helped my creativity. Both genres can

play off each other and spark ideas.”

Over the last week of January, Yarrow was in Australia documenting the devastating

bush fires that have destroyed communities, wildlife and wildlands. Using the

striking and poignant images that he captured of the effects of the fire, Yarrow and

environmental non-profit organisation WildArk, launched the #KoalaComeback

Campaign to raise $2 million to support recovery efforts in Australia. Fifty percent of

the proceeds will be directed to Earth Alliance’s Australia Wildfire Fund, and

WildArk will use the remaining donations to support local organisations working on

wildlife rehabilitation and habitat restoration. The campaign has already received

celebrity endorsement from Chris Hemsworth, Cara Delevingne and Cindy

Crawford.

With his images heightening awareness of our planet, and his artwork continuing to

raise huge sums for charity and conservation, ‘Living on Earth’ celebrates one of the

most relevant and evocative photographers in the world today.
